CleverBoxes Director | Teresa Yerkes to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise money for charity

The gruelling challenge of climbing Africa’s highest mountain awaits a warm-hearted Sabden housewife.

Teresa Yerkess is preparing to conquer 19340ft Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise money for charity after hearing that the young son of a customer was suffering from a rare and terminal disease.

Teresa, a company director at Accrington-based IT providers Cleverboxes, will attempt the adventurous seven-day trek in September in aid of ‘One Can Make A Difference’, a charity which raises awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

And the 37-year-old mother of three, who will be accompanied on the walk by her close friend Rachael Stones, is also planning to host a summer ball at Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park stadium on July 9th as part of her valiant fundraising efforts.www.justgiving.com/Teresa-Yerkess

“This climb is the most challenging thing I have ever attempted, but if I can raise awareness about this fatal disease and help suffering families then that would be fantastic,” said Teresa.

She decided to undertake the demanding trek after being told that the son of one of Cleverboxes’ business clients was suffering from the terminal muscle wasting condition.

Tony and Tracy, whose five-year-old son Joey was diagnosed with the incurable disease aged just 18 months old, set up the OCMAD charity in 2007.

As part of her training for the big event, Teresa will walk in Snowdonia with husband Vernon in May: “I am currently walking around 30 miles a week as part of the preparation, but it is all well worth the effort.

“Tracy and Tony are such lovely people and they have stayed so positive despite their difficulties. Climbing Kilimanjaro is nothing compared to their everyday torment.”

Fujifilm Finepix HS20 Digital Camera with 30x Optical Zoom 16 Megapixels (P10NC03780A)

Overview

The Ultimate All-In-One Just Got Better

Fujifilm Finepix HS20 Digital Camera with 30x Optical Zoom 16 Megapixels (Black)

Fujifilm Finepix HS20 Digital Camera with 30x Optical Zoom 16 Megapixels Record-breaking, innovative, versatile; the new Fujifilm FinePix HS20 is all this and so much more. Replacing the multiple award-winning FinePix HS10, this latest addition to the range of Fujifilm bridge cameras represents the perfect picture taking solution for photographers who want the specification and picture quality of an SLR without the heavy camera bag and huge dent in their bank balance. With a class-leading feature set that includes a brand new EXR CMOS sensor, high speed continuous shooting capability, improved user interface, versatile video functions, 30x zoom lens and a 16 megapixel resolution, the HS20 sets new standards in bridge camera functionality and performance. Sitting at the heart of the FinePix HS20 is an all-new sensor that marries EXR and CMOS technologies to deliver truly outstanding results, regardless of the lighting conditions. The secret lies in the combination of Back Side Illuminated (BSI) CMOS and Fujifilm's unique EXR sensor technology. The design of conventional CMOS sensors is such that the light has to pass through a layer of wiring before hitting the photo diodes. But the BSI-CMOS configuration places this wiring layer behind the photo diodes improving light sensitivity and dramatically boosting results, particularly in low light. Couple this to the triple-layer EXR array, the performance of which can be split according to the lighting conditions, and you'll see why the FinePix HS20 sets new standards in sensor technology. As with other FinePix models featuring EXR sensors, three shooting options are available. In the High Resolution mode, users can take advantage of the huge 16 megapixel resolution (the world's largest for a sensor of this type) for truly breathtaking levels of detail and sharpness. The Dynamic Range function uses dual capture technology to provide a maximum range of 1600% for stunning results on high contrast scenes. While the Signal to Noise mode increases pixel size using Pixel Fusion to produce outstanding images in low lighting conditions. With this unique sensor combination, capturing great pictures has never been easier.

CleverBoxes sponsor Accrington Stanley | Six figure deal, over three years

Posted by admin

Accrington Stanley Official Shirt Sponsor “CleverBoxes”

We are very proud to announce that we are now the official shirt sponsor for Accrington Stanley 2011 – 2014.  As a successful local business we wanted to support our local football club. What better team to sponsor than Accrington Stanley, one of the twelve founder members of the Football League in 1888.

We’ve made the decision to sponsor Accrington Stanley for a “Six figure deal, over three years” for several good reasons. We believe we can work well together, we have the same values and we want to WIN!!!

Our Marketing department headed by Rick Ingham will be working closely with the Accrington Stanley and its Commercial Manager, Martin Edmundson over the coming years to build on each other’s brands.

We've got some great ideas in planning for example:-

- The creation of our own “CleverBox” at Accrington Stanley
- Corporate events
- Digital signage
- Dedicated blog!
- Special events
- Competitions
- Plus lots more…

Today 27-04-11 we held a press conference at Accrington Stanley to announce our sponsorship deal attended by Vernon Yerkess (Director), Rick Ingham (Marketing Manager), John Meadowcroft (Financial Controller) and Paul Collins (CTO)

Local press, Sky Sports News, Granada TV News and Lancashire Business View were all present to report on this excellent story for 2 local brands that are witnessing great success.

A selection of the CleverBoxes team and their families will be at this Saturday’s match, Accrington Stanley v Barnet to support the team.

We are going to be a “hands on” sponsor; we want the team to win, we’ll do everything we can to help.

Official Press release by Accrington Stanley

Accrington Stanley announce Clever Boxes as the official shirt sponsor.

The club have struck a three year deal reaching over a six figure sponsorship fee with local IT supplier Clever Boxes.com. The partnership was launched at a Press Conference held at the Crown Ground on Wednesday afternoon as the play off contending club introduced the new shirt sponsor to the media.

After the press conference, the club and Cleverboxes celebrated the new partnership in the stands. Chief Executive Rob Heys, Team Manager John Coleman, and Commercial Manager Martin Edmundson were all present to welcome Cleverboxes’ Director Vernon Yerkess and his team to the football club.

Speaking about the new partnership Rob Heys commented “it is fantastic to have a major sponsor that is a local and successful organisation.” CleverBoxes have seen tremendous growth since being established in 2002 and have doubled turnover figures for the past 2 years and have forecasted another 100% turnover increase this year. Speaking about the sponsorship Cleverboxes Director Vernon Yerkess stated “the partnership just seemed to fit.  Accrington Stanley is our local football club and both brands are heading in the right direction and I think we can support one another to reach that success.

Commercial Manager Martin Edmundson commented “I love the ideas and direction that CleverBoxes intend to take this partnership over the upcoming seasons and am very much looking forward to bringing the plans to life. This partnership signifies the importance of local businesses to Accrington Stanley, but also how much the club has to offer to businesses great and small.”

The home shirt which will now contain CleverBoxes’ branding on the chest will be available to purchase from Saturday’s game versus Barnet, a fixture that could determine whether Stanley are definitely in this Season’s playoff campaign.
