An ALL-IN-ONE HP Workstation, I can’t wait…
As a workstation user myself I realise the importance of power, speed and resilience. A workstation has to be first and foremost a workhorse, allowing you to complete your tasks quickly and effectively.
I currently have a HP Z400 Workstation running an Intel Xeon Quad Core CPU W3530 @ 2.80GHz with an AMD/ATI 1 GB FirePro V5800, attached to 3 HP Compaq LA1905wg monitors. I use my HP Workstation primarily as a Graphics Workstation. I can easily run multiple intensive graphics applications without losing any overall performance.
The build quality of the HP Workstations range is second to none, the ease of tool-less upgrades is a fantastic addition. Using the HP Performance Advisor I can quickly monitor the performance of my HP Workstation and adjust application specific settings. For example fine-tune my workstation for optimum performance when using Adobe CS5.5.
Seeing HP introduce a brand new all-in-one workstation in the UK is great news for all workstation users.
As always space can be an issue and fitting your mammoth workstation rig in smaller office environments can sometimes be challenging. Equally not having to leave your workstation sat on your desk in the office every night and at weekends would be an advantage. Having a HP Z1 workstation at home could be a solution to those of us who crave the power of the Workstation outside the traditional office setting.
Reading HP’s release information for the HP Z1 Workstations (that will be available in mid-April 2012) has definitely got me thinking about an all in one workstation solution. I can’t wait to see the full product range for the HP Z1. I think the price of the HP Z1 will be the key to the success of an all in one workstation, watch this space for information on when stock is available to buy in the UK.
