A quick round up of the Gadget Show Live
The Gadget Show Live is the UK's ultimate consumer electronics event and returns for its third year at the NEC, Birmingham this week.
What a day, Gary Sargent and I (Rick Ingham) spent the day at Gadget Show Live (Professional Day). We spent a good few hours on the Lenovo stand blogging and interacting with their tech. We entered their competition to win a laptop...
We watched a 3D movie experience whilst chatting with the friendly Lenovo team.
Check out our image gallery below for some great images captured on the day.
For me the racing simulator was best part of the Lenovo stand racing an F1 Ferrari around Silverstone (The original track).
My best lap time was by about 15 seconds better than Gary's
We then took a walk round the entire show, some great stands and lots of great tech...
Though we were invited to the Gadget Show by Lenovo, I have to say it is definitely one of the best stands there this year. Great team, great tech and great fun too.
Thanks to everyone at Lenovo for a great experience.
Btw my best time was 129.834, If you are visiting the Gadget Show live this year check out the Lenovo stand

Well here we are, Rick and myself (Gary Sargent), we've arrived at the NEC and found our way to the Lenovo stand, wandering through a hall full of the latest technology, we're like two kids in a sweet shop.
So, we're now plotted down on the Lenovo stand, having had a good look round at some of the latest products that Lenovo have to offer. We were welcomed by Fran Vickers, Lenovo's UK SMB Marketing Manager and James Pank, Head of UK Product Channel Sales.
Looking around it's easy to see why Lenovo have a name for launching exciting and innovotive products, with a very good looking range of netbooks, notebooks, all-in-ones and displays. One of the products on display today is their latest addition to the ThinkPad range - the Edge E420s. This magnificent piece of engineering also forms part of a challenge that the Lenovo team have set to vistors of the stand; "The Boot Up Challenge" in a nutshell this challenge gives people the opportunity to pit their current laptop against the Edge E420s and win £1,000. The E420s has a boot up speed of under 10 seconds and if the challenging laptop can beat this speed the prize can be won.
The secret to the E420's amazing speed is it's Rapid Drive Technology, which combines one of Intel’s new SSD 310 mSATA solid state drives with a standard 5,400 or 7,200-rpm hard drive to give users both high-speed and high-capacity storage. With Rapid Drive, the operating system, program files, and some documents are stored on the SSD while the majority of the users’ data sits on the hard drive. This allows extremely fast boot times and application opens, but still gives the user enough space to hold a ton of files.
We will update you on this during the course of the day and see if any body can beat this phenominal speed.
