HP TouchPad Announced! FB405UA - HP TouchPad 16Gb Wi-Fi

Finally after months of expectation and rumour, HP has finally announced their eagerly awaited HP TouchPad. Call 01254 238 749 for more information. (We are taking pre-orders)
Powered by the latest version of the multi-tasking webOS 3.0 operating system, which HP inherited from purchasing Palm last year and a 1.2Ghz dual-core SnapDragon CPU, the HP TouchPad really stands apart from the Apple iPad and a sea of the same "Powered by Android" tablets that are currently available.
If you put the HP TouchPad and the Apple iPad side by side you would be forgiven for thinking they were somehow separated at birth as they both share the same sized 9.7" colour touch screen and the tablet housings are decidedly similar. Switch both tablets on though and the story changes significantly as the HP TouchPad starts to make the Apple iPad look and feel decidedly last year.
webOS 3.0 is a true multi-tasking operating system and allows the user of the HP TouchPad to simply flick between applications that are currently running. webOS 3.0 also supports "Touch To Share" which allows the transfer of text, websites, music and emails between the HP TouchPad and the newly announced HP Veer and Pre 3 mobile phones.
Hardware wise, the HP TouchPad is a real next generation power house. Along with the already mentioned 1.2Ghz dual-core SnapDragon CPU is 16Gb or 32Gb RAM, a front facing 1.3 megapixel webcam with support for video conferencing, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, A-GPS (3G model only) and a stereo sound system powered by HP's Beats audio engine.
Out of the box will be the new panelled email application, Skype calling, VPN access, wireless printing with HP's ePrint range of printers, access to the Amazon Kindle eBook store as well as Google Docs and QuickOffice support.
On the accessories front, there's a case/stand (which includes a handy flip-out kickstand for desk use), a wireless keyboard and a new Touchstone dock that enables all of the wireless communication magic between webOS devices.
Launching in the summer with a Wi-Fi only version, a Wi-Fi+3G version will launch closely after. HP have yet to confirm pricing and an exact launch date but expect pricing to be competitive with the much rumoured Apple iPad2 which is due around the same time.
Keep your eyes on the CleverBoxes.com website as we are sure to be one of the first companies in the UK to have stock of this super charged tablet.

HP IP Console Switch G2 with Virtual Media & CAC
HP's IP Console Switch G2 with Virtual Media and Common Access Card (CAC) support is a key component in managing the heterogeneous data center and along with the IP Viewer software allows remote access to multiple servers running various operating systems. Virtual Media capability allows a removable drive or ISO image to be remotely mapped to an attached server in the data center or a remote office for software installations andupgrades. An intuitive User Interface provides menus for configuration, virtual media, display, and even security and upgrades from the local console. The term, CAC stands for Common Access Card, also known as "Smart Cards". The CAC allows government agency and other company employees to keep all of their network access information on a card (about the size of a credit card) that is read by either an external USB reader or a port on the PC/server. These appliances adds support for reading and transmitting USB CCID Generic Smart Card/CAC data from user station (local or remote) to end server. In cascaded environments the HP IP Console Switch G2 with Virtual Media & CAC can allow an administrator to manage up to 1024 servers across two tiers from a single console. When tiered with additional HP Server Console Switches with Virtual Media application installations and upgrades can be pushed through to any server on any of the two tiers from a single console.
The HP IP Console Switch G2 with Virtual Media & CAC is backwards compatible with all HP Cat5 based Server Console Switches and interface adapters that do not support virtual media.
Standard rack mounting of the HP IP Console Switches will take up 1U (1.75") of front panel rack space. However, the switches can also be mounted in a "zero U" profile by mounting in the side rails of the rack, or behind the HP 1U Rackmount Keyboard or the 1U TFT7600 Rackmount Keyboard Monitor.

HP Server Console Switches
HP Server Console Switches are key components for rack mount implementations (a console represents one keyboard, video monitor, and mouse (KVM) attached to a server). The family of HP Server Console Switches allows multiple servers in a rack to be accessed and managed by one keyboard, monitor, and mouse. By using a console switch, as many as 256 computers running different operating systems can be managed. The 8-Port and 16-port Server Console Switches feature an On-Screen Display (OSD) interface, which has intuitive menus for accessing each attached computer or serial attached device. Equipment can be identified by a user-defined name or sequentially by number, enabling easy access.
HP Server Console Switches can be connected in a tiered fashion, to increase server access from eight servers to as many as 256 servers. Switching between computers is accomplished by typing a switching command at the keyboard, or by using the mouse to interact with the graphic interface of the selected computer via the OSD.
The HP Server Console Switch family of products is available in 8- and 16-Port versions. Both versions offers dual console support, allowing the flexibility of controlling switch configurations from more than one location, or by more than one user. Standard rack mounting of the HP Server Console Switches will take up 1U (1.75") of front panel rack space. However, the Switches can also be mounted in a "zero U" profile by mounting in the side rails of the rack, or behind the HP 1U Keyboard Drawer or the 1U TFT7600 Keyboard/monitor drawer.

MOTOROLA ATRIX | Redefined smartphone from Motorola
The Motorola Atrix Smart Phone
Motorola has announced the amazing Motorola Atrix, a dual core Android powerhouse smartphone, which boasts an amazing line up of features. Here a cloud.cleverboxes.com we're pretty excited about this new smartphone from Motorola. With fond memories of Motorola's original mobile phone offerings, it's nice to see them bring such great Smartphone's onto the market.
MOTOROLA ATRIX accessories redefine just how smart a smartphone can be. The revolutionary Laptop Dock looks like a slim laptop but only comes to life when you dock your ATRIX. That’s when the webtop app fires up, giving you a big screen look at your phone’s content, access to the web with a standard browser and more. Plus, all docks for ATRIX remember your preferences for a customized experience.
The Motorola Atrix lays claim to being the most powerful smartphone,, with Orange confirming it will be part of the 2011 smartphone line up. Inside the device, the Motorola Atrix has a dual core 1 GHz processor, which means the potential of 2 GHz processing power is available when the handset is pushed to maximum output. There is also 1 GB of RAM, which is pretty much double than that offered on most smartphones, as well as a high quality qHD display, with a resolution of 960 x 540, supporting up to 16 million colours.
The Atrix has a range of accessories available, including a laptop dock, which has a full keyboard, 11.6 inch screen and stereo speakers. The dock has its own 36Wh three cell battery power supply, offering up to eight hours of battery life. The Atrix handset simply connects to the back of the dock, allowing access to data and content on the phone.
The Samsung Atrix Smart Phone in our opinion looks to be a great solution to both, home and business users. With the power and functionality of the laptop dock the Samsung Atrix could be one of this year’s top gadgets. As soon as we can get our hands on one, we’ll review the Samsung Atrix and post a CleverBoxes video review.
